Before visiting Tunisia, it had never really been on my radar.
When Yann and I were looking at where we wanted to go for my birthday, I was thinking I wanted to do an all inclusive or visit a different European country.
Yann suggested we visit Tunisia in North Africa, and I was like huh? That would be crazy expensive, no?!
Crazy expensive for me, yes, but not so much for him.
Going to Tunisia for the french (Yann lives in France btw) is like us over here in Canada going down to Cuba, only it’s much cheaper.
So after some planning, I flew down to Europe, where we spent a couple days before heading off to Hammamet, Tunisia for a week.
Tunisia was different vibe altogether and I got so much more out there than I honestly thought I would. The country has so much to offer and I had a great time exploring it.
These 20 photos below are a little snippet of what visiting Tunisia was like. From exploring a bit of the sahara desert for the first time, to riding a camel and quad bikes over the sand dunes.
From spending time lounging by the beautiful pool of our resort to experiencing the colours of Sidi Bou Saiid, to walking the ruins in Tunis.
There is so much to see, do, and experience and I’m so happy I got the chance to taste some of it.
If Tunisia was not on your radar before, it definitely will be after taking a look at these photos.
And if it was on your radar, then hopefully this inspires you to finally make the move and plan your trip there.

Are you ready to pack your bags for Tunisia now?
I know I’m ready to go back!
Some things to note before going
Hamamet, Tunisia has a mediteranean climate, so the summers are hot and dry and the winters are mild. I visited Tunisia the beginning of June and experienced beautiful weather.
The best time to go is definitely between June and September.
You will find the Islamic culture is very present in Tunisia, but European (especially french) culture is very strong as well.
Until next time, stay blessed ♡
