This is the summer of fun. At least that’s what I’m calling it.
My closest friends and I set out to see and do as much as possible this summer.

The summer of fun
One of my besties is possibly moving away at the end of August so we are tackling a list of places to visit.
Some of these places we’ve wanted to see for a long time but just never made the plans to go.
Activities done so far
So far we’ve visited the Cheltenham Badlands, Elora quarry, Terre Bleu Lavender farm and gone on a wine tour in Niagara (to ring in my 30th). We’ve also gone to Brunch fest, Kensington Market for their pedestrian Sundays, wine fest, camping and ax throwing (for my friends 30th).
We’ve got 2 more 30th birthdays to celebrate and some more activities planned as well.
Now to some this may not seem like a lot, but factor in working 30+ hours every week and trying to find a time/day that works for 4 different people, it’s not always the easiest.
We don’t all always make it out to each outing but for the most part you’ll see me and my 3 main amigas hitting the town.
The first summer my beau has been in Toronto
Now this is the first summer Yann has been in Canada.
Each time he visited in the past, it was during the frigid winter months.
So I sort of feel like I have an obligation to take him out and show him how great Toronto is in the summer.
Heck I’m trying to show myself how great Toronto is in the summer.
Work work work work work
Every year, since 2006, I have worked my summer job as a camp counselor with Toronto Parks and recreation.
For the last 10 years or so, I’ve worked 2 jobs in the summer months (one year I even worked 3, don’t ask me what I was thinking).
If you’ve read my Journey thus far post, you’ll know that I work at Costco throughout the year.
I can’t take summers off to work camp so I do both.
That is 75+ hours a week of work for 2 and a half months every year.
Those have always been my summers (or lack thereof).
This is my first year not working camps and only working at Costco, so I have SO much more free time and I can actually do stuff.
So much to do, so little time money
Problem is there is TOO much to do sometimes and not enough time to do it all, even with all the extra time I have.
And there’s the big one, there’s never enough MONEY.
Going to all these events and outings I mentioned before really do add up.
You can easily spend $100+ at one festival alone per person.
So we’ve definitely slowed it down a bit and tried looking more at free things to do like sightseeing and just walking around enjoying the weather or even going on a picnic or two.
Traveling Canada
We still have quite a bit more places and events to hit up, not to mention a 7 day road trip over to Nova Scotia towards the end of the month.
I’m hella excited for that trip as I’ve never been east and I know it’s supposed to be beautiful.
Since I started traveling, I’ve been looking to all these other countries for adventure- the amazing experiences, cute villages, and beautiful scenery they have to offer.
In doing that, I’ve totally been neglecting what’s been right in front of my face.
Canada has so much to offer, and Ontario is a great place to start.
The country is so diverse and there is honestly so much to see and do and your girl can’t wait to partake in more of it.
Yes, I said partake. *sips tea with pinky up*
So stay tuned because I will definitely be sharing more as this summer of fun continues.
Until next time, stay blessed ♡
