Today I am going to share with you why you should be using stock photos for your website.

I avoided using stock photos for so long because I wanted to be completely unique and only use photos I had taken myself.
I’d seen so many websites that had used the exact same images and I honestly thought it was unoriginal.
So was I being original or just stubborn? That was the question.
I wanted my website to reflect me and for everything on it to be done by me, making it completely and originally me.
In this post
Well folks, I finally cracked.
I’ve officially started using stock photos.
Really only for my blogging and lifestyle posts though, I have more than enough beautiful and high-quality travel photos from all my travels.
It just wouldn’t make sense for me to use other people’s travel stock photos.
Now, beginning to use stock photos has taken my graphics from this

I tried to create my own stock images and I thought I’d done a pretty darn good job if I do say so myself.
But without having all the proper tools and materials to create several different high-quality stock photos, I would always end up using the same ones but just trying to angle it differently.
Quite simply, it was not working.
And because I didn’t have a variety of photos to choose from, I found that I wouldn’t write any new posts on blogging because I didn’t have the beautiful images I needed to support it.
I wanted to have those light, airy, and beautiful photos on my website that I was seeing on others but I was so darn stubborn!
The realization
Your girl bought a few course bundles and one of them was exclusive to blogging and included 100 stock photos. I was thinking this is going to be of no use to me, but decided to download them anyway because I’d paid for the course and they were a bonus, so why not!
Well after downloading and looking through them, I began getting the sensation that I should actually utilize them.
The photos were beautiful and so much better looking than ones I was currently using (yep, the ones I’d taken myself).
It was time to admit it to myself. I needed to use these images in order to step my game up.
The transition
I first uploaded one of the images to my Resources Page and WHAT A DIFFERENCE IT MADE.
I’m not even lying when I say I felt a sense of relief after seeing how it changed the feel of the page. I have no other way of describing it. You might think I’m being dramatic, and maybe I am, but I’ve always been a bit on the dramatic side, and I love it.
But in all honesty, stock photos really can make ALL the difference.
A small gift for ya!
Because I have felt this huge sense of relief after having this stock photo epiphany, I wanted to share what I’ve learned with you.
I have created a short little stock photo guide with a few websites I’ve utilized that have a large variety of high-quality stock photos.
These websites offer FREE stock photos and after searching through quite a few different sites, I’ve found that these ones are among the best.
You will find short descriptions of each website and why I think they are great.
Please comment below and let me know what your take on stock photos are and what sites you use (if I missed it in my list).
Until next time, stay blessed ♡
