20 Photos that show how beautiful Canada is

Less than 1 minute Reading Time: Mins

Canada is a gorgeous country that offers amazingly diverse landscapes and has all 4 seasons of the year. Come and get inspired with these 20 photos that show just how beautiful Canada really is.

~

I haven’t been fair to my country. In the past when I wanted to travel, I only looked at going abroad as the only option. All these other countries looked so amazing and had this magical allure to them that I didn’t think existed in my own.

But I was sooo wrong.

2019 was Yann’s first summer in Toronto and it was my first summer not working myself into the ground with full time 2 jobs. We spent the majority of those beautifully warm days playing tourist and visiting many places in and around Toronto, some that I hadn’t even heard of before.

I mean, did you know we had Lavender fields here? And not just one but multiple different farms.

And did you know that Hamilton is home to hundreds of waterfalls?! That’s right, you don’t have to travel to Asia or New Zealand to get your dose of big waterfalls in, all you need to do is drive about an hour or so from Toronto, and voila!

My eyes have been opened up.

In August, we were blessed to take a road trip with a good friend east to Nova Scotia and I was amazed at how much some parts of the province reminded me of the mystical mountains in New Zealand.

Canada is absolutely stunning and there are so many amazing places to visit and cultures to take in.

Why didn’t I realize this sooner?! I guess it’s better late than never though, right!

And while I have yet to hit up all the provinces, (I’ve been to 4 of them so far), it’s definitely on the list.

With an upcoming trip to Alberta that I’m crazy excited about, I’ll have another province that I get to tick off that list too. Woohoo!

I want to share some of the beauty of Canada with you.

Whether you’ve lived here your whole life, and like me, neglected all the amazing places there are here to visit, or whether you’ve never been to Canada before and want to see what the country has to offer, this post is for you.

I’ve conjured up a list with 20 beautiful photos showcasing places to visit in Canada and I hope that by the end of this post, you feel inspired to travel this beautifully diverse country.

Add them to your master list of places to visit and if you don’t have a list yet, start making one!

So without further ado, let’s get into this.

20 photos of places to visit in Canada

1 Vancouver

Areal view flying into Vancouver

This is one of the views you’ll have when you are flying into the beautiful province of Vancouver. I was mesmerized when I visited in 2016 with these gorgeous views of the city with the mountains in the background from my preferred window seat on the plane.

2 Nova scotia

Say hello to the wonderfully colourful town of Lunenburg. During my week-long visit to Nova Scotia, I made it a priority to visit this charming fishing town. This photo was taken from a viewpoint across the river by the Bluenose golf course.

3 Niagara falls

You can’t visit Ontario without taking a trip to the powerful and infamous Horseshoe falls in Niagara. Every time I visit, I’m reminded of its beauty.

4 Toronto skyline

One of the best spots to watch the sunset with the gorgeous backdrop of the Toronto city Skyline is from Riverdale park. It offers a beautiful view of the city both at night and during the day.

5 Montreal

Old Montreal has a beautiful charm all it’s own. In the winter as the lights start to dim and day turns to night, down by the pier offers some magical views and feels.

6 Ottawa

Ottawa is the capital of Canada and offers some lovely views like this one of the Alexander bridge and the city off in the distance. It was a moody day when I took this photo but it didn’t take away from the views, well in my opinion anyway!

7 Halifax

This photo of downtown Halifax was taken from atop the hill of the Citadel National Historic Site. There’s a lot of beautiful architecture to take in from this height from the buildings to the bridge in the background. I love a good city view!

8 Bay of Fundy

Rock formations at the Bay of Fundy

Located in New Brunswick, the Bay of Fundy National Park is a sight to see with tall sweeping landscapes and tides that come and go with the moon.

9 Bow Lake

Shylo at Bow Lake

People rave about Lake Louise in Alberta but I think Bow lake rivals the infamous site in terms of beauty. Bow Lake is located along the road from Banff National park to Jasper National park and offers some of the most amazing views all year round!

10 Cabot trail

The Cabot trail is located in Cape Breton and the Skyline trail is a must-see/do when visiting Nova Scotia. The drive alone is epic with gorgeous twists and turns and is one of the best scenic drives you can take.

11 Hamilton

Land of the waterfalls is another name some people don’t know Hamilton has. With hundreds of waterfalls from big to small, Hamilton offers some awesome waterfall views.

12 Athabasca Glacier

Did someone sing “Walking in a winter wonderland?” Athabasca glacier in the winter screams I’m a magical land. That’s exactly what I felt like while walking through the snow- like I’d been transported into a gorgeous winter wonderland!

13 Terre Blue lavender field

Terre Bleu lavender farm

I’d wanted to visit a Lavender field for the longest time, specifically the one in Provence, France. Little did I know there are several fields right here in Ontario. While the lavender may not grow as big as the one in France, it’s still a beautiful place to visit and take all the Insta worthy pics your heart desires.

14 Montreal

Beautiful in both the winter and the summer, the view over downtown Montreal from Mount Royal Park is one you definitely want to see when visiting the city.

15 Peggy’s cove

You mean you don’t have to go to Europe for awesome port views like this? The beauty I experienced in Nova Scotia surprised me on so many levels. The province is diverse in landscape with Peggy’s cove offering some iconic views.

16 Cheltenham Badlands

the cheltenham badlands

Kinda looks like Mars right?! The Cheltenham Badlands is such a cool site I never knew existed and is only an hour’s drive away from Toronto.

17 Tunnel Bluffs lookout point

Looking over the view at Tunnel Bluffs lookout point

You can get these epic views of Lions Bay by hiking up to Tunnel Bluffs which is just off the Sea to Sky highway in Vancouver. About a 4-hour hike round trip and so worth it because these views are to die for!

18 Elora Gorge

With beautiful green waters and a small beach, it kind of feels like you’re on vacation in a tropical place, not in Ontario. The only thing not tropical is the frigid temperature of the water but if you visit on a hot day, then you have nothing to fear. Elora is a lovely little spot to visit that I highly recommend in the summertime.

19 Inverness beach

So I don’t have to go to New Zealand to experience gorgeous mystical mountain views? Say no more! Driving in Cape Breton, I was feeling all the NZ vibes especially when I pulled up to this secluded beach. I was mesmerized by the beautiful and moody clouds swallowing the tops of the hills in the distance.

20 Emerald lake

Emerald Lake is located in Yoho National Park in Vancouver. And yes, the water really is this gorgeous emerald green colour!

Bonus photo: Rocco’s Cucina restaurant

While it may not be as beautiful as all the other photos featured in this post, this restaurant close to the Bay of Fundy is one I ate at twice in the day and a half I spent in New Brunswick. I’m still dreaming about the delicious food and dessert I experienced here and the service was amazing as well!

~

Well, that brings us to the end of this post. Canada is beautiful, am I right? If you hadn’t been a believer before, I hope I’ve converted you over to one just like I was!
